An important message from the Maine ASA Umpire-in-Chief, Steve Roscia

You are going to see softballs out there that do not have the NFHS logo or stamp on the balls. These softballs are made by Dudley and it is the same softballs that the MPA uses in the regional and state playoffs. After talking with the MPA, these softballs are legal to use in high school softball games. Please do not throw these balls out of the game. The model number of the balls are SB12-LY-RF-FP.

Any Other softballs must have the NFHS logo or stamp on the balls. Please inform your fellow umpires about this. It seems right now the problem is up in the Waterville area as well as Medomak valley.
